Ms Andrews is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, and the Detroit Consumer Bankruptcy Association.

Attorney Roberta W. Andrews attended college in her home state of Connecticut at the University of Connecticut. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in History and further obtained her teaching certificate in K-12 Education. After moving to Michigan with her spouse and two children in 1990, she attended Wayne State University Law School in Detroit where she graduated magna cum laude in 1995. During law school, Ms. Andrews worked and volunteered with the Free Legal Aid Clinic providing divorce, child custody, and domestic violence protection services to those in need. Her first job as an attorney was with a personal injury firm where she immediately began trial work. Ms. Andrews was introduced into Bankruptcy practice in 1997 while working with UAW Legal Services providing a range of legal services to Union members including real estate transactions, wills & trusts, contract claims, divorce, and bankruptcy. Deciding that bankruptcy provided the most valuable assistance to people with financial difficulties, in 2002 Ms. Andrews joined attorney Samuel G. Firebaugh to concentrate exclusively on bankruptcy. Since the firm opened in Westland, Michigan, Ms. Andrews has worked diligently advocating for people in financial distress. As the economy has deteriorated and the housing crisis has caused more financial hardship, she has focused on using bankruptcy law to stop foreclosure, obtain mortgage loan modifications, and strip off second mortgages and home equity loans so that people can afford to stay in their homes
